Material examined. Holotype (disintegrated, plates only) NHM UK 2013.1095, Stn 184: Pacific, Western Central (Coral Sea); 2562 m.

Supplementary descriptions. Zevina (1981a) and Chan et al. (2009).

Distribution. Pacific, Western Central and Southwest; Indian Ocean. Known depth range 1561 to 4162 m.

Habitat. On crinoids and gorgonian corals.

Remarks. Young (2007) noted the striking resemblance of this species to Arcoscalpellum mamillatum (Aurivillius, 1898) . A detailed redescription of the holotype would help to confirm the validity of these species.
