Dilophus deletus (C.H.G. Heyden, 1859)
Bibio deletus C.H.G. Heyden, 1859: 44 .
Dilophus deletus (G.H.G. Heyden, 1859) L. Heyden, 1870: 255 .
Localities: Rott
Type: Coll. Krantz, Bonn (not seen)
Transferred to Dilophus by L. Heyden, 1870
Total length 7.7 mm
The type is, according to C.H.G. Heyden (1859, 14 and Plate II, Fig. 13) a poorly preserved male with wings missing. L. Heyden (1870) transferred the species to Dilophus but did not further describe it except by noting it was smaller than Dilophus krantzii . We have not been able to find the type specimen, judging from the original description it is probably not recognizable even to genus level, and should be treated as a nomen dubium.
