9. Scrobipalpa caryocoloides Povolný, 1977
(Figs. 31, 50)
Wingspan 7.0-8.0 mm.
Male genitalia (Fig. 31). Uncus relatively large, prolonged, gradually narrowed distally. Gnathos short, weakly curved. Valva long and narrow, weakly curved distally, slightly exceeding top of uncus. Sacculus fused with vinculum processes except distal part; apex with very small pointed tip. Paired processes on posterior margin of vinculum relatively broad; apex rounded with small pointed tip, not exceeding top of sacculus; medial excision deep, triangular. Saccus relatively broad and long. Aedeagus slightly inflated basally, straight distally; apex with small cornutus.
Distribution. China (Ningxia, Shaanxi), Japan, Korea. New record for China.
Notes. The male genitalia of S. caryocoloides Povolný are similar to those of S. bidzilyai (Povolný) and related species by having the sacculus fused with the paired processes of vinculum. S. caryocoloides can be easily recognized by the broad paired processes of vinculum and very small, short apex of sacculus in combination with large prolonged uncus (Fig. 31). The female genitalia of the Chinese specimens (Fig. 50) fit well with those of S. caryocoloides figured by D. Povolný (2002: Pl. 76, fig. 798) and K. Park & M. Ponomarenko (2006: fig. 46).
