KUW fieldwork, snorkelling and scuba diving, 1–8 m, coral grounds at night, 3 ovigerous females (LC 3.0– 3.2 mm, LT about 14 mm), MNHN-Na 17063; St 14, 09/11/2009, 10h–12h, La Prudente bank, 12°38'50.68"S, 44°58'41.93"E, coll. KUW fieldwork, scuba diving 15–17 m, sediment suction pump, sandy bottom, coral boulders, 1 ovigerous female (LC 3.4 mm, LT 19.6 mm), MNHN-Na 17060.
Colouration (fig. 12). Body transparent, with minute red markings on carapace, abdomen and appendages, carapace somewhat greenish.
Distribution. Type locality Kagoshima, Japan. Also known from Kenya, Zanzibar, Tanzania, Mozambique, Comoro Islands, Madagascar, Seychelles, Mauritius, La Réunion, Maldives, Chagos Islands, Vietnam, South China Sea, Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Australia (Western Australia, Queensland), Mariana Islands, Caroline Islands, New Caledonia, Loyalty Islands, Marshall Islands, Cook Islands, Fiji.
Remarks. The specimens agree with previous descriptions and illustrations. This common species in Indo- Pacific was not previously recorded from Mayotte with certainty, although it was recorded from Madagascar and Mozambique. The specimen of MNHN-Na 17063 was collected together with 1 male of Cuapetes tenuipes (Borradaile, 1898) (MNHN-Na 16041) and 1 female of Palaemonella rotumana (Borradaile, 1898) (MNHN-Na 16049) at Station 3.
