Remark. Images of the holotype (MCZ: Type 9637) are available on MCZ Type Database Site. It doubtlessly belongs to the genus Parascela, because of its setose head and pronotum and tuberculate elytra with confused puncturation. We transfer this species to the genus Parascela . It is the first species of the genus Parascela from Sri Lanka. The differences from other species of Parascela are given in the key below.
