Coniceromyia browni Kung

Diagnosis (male). Foretibia swollen, laterally flatten, with posteroventral row of strong setae and three dorsal setae; foremetatarsus elongated. Circular macula on forefemur anterior face (Fig. 319). M2 concave in its basal half.

Material examined. Paratype: 1♂, COLOMBIA: Amazonas: PNN Amacayacu: Matamata, 3.68ºS, 70.25ºW, 25.viii–3.ix.2001, Malaise trap, 150 m, D. Chota col. (LACM) . New material: ECUADOR: 1♂, Sucumbios: Sacha Lodge, 0.5ºS, 76.5ºW, 14–24.v.1994, Malaise trap, 270 m, P. Hibbs col. (LACM) ; 1♂, same data but 12–22.ii.1994 .

Hypopygium description (Figs. 49–52). Hypopygium light brown. Epandrium extensively covered with microtrichia, with small proximal lateral areas bare; epandrial dorsal and left sutures present. Left epandrial process dorsally setose, with setulose subepandrially curved medial lobe and setose subepandrial elevation near base. Right epandrial projection with subepandrial group of setulae. Hypoproct with two setae. Right lobe of hypandrium bilobed, apically with thicker microtrichia.

Geographical distribution. Colombia and Ecuador.
