Hosts: A. agrarius (LT), A. flavicollis (LT), C. glareolus (LT), M. agrestis (LT), M. arvalis (LT) .
Host specificity: highly specific parasite of C. glareolus (S i = 0.92).
European distribution: Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, France, Germany, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland (Beaucournu 1968; Černy 1971; Mahnert 1971b; Cais 1977; Haitlinger 1977a; 1980; 2011; 2015; Büttiker & Mahnert 1978; Zapatero Ramos et al. 1978; Kováčik 1984; Stanjukovich 1987; Kononova 1996; Krištofik & Dudich 2000b; Manilla 2003; Vas et al. 2012; Maaz et al. 2018).
Notes: This is the first record of H. edentula on small mammals in Baltic States (Lithuania). Specimens were found in Central Lithuanian lowland (arable land, bogs, mature deciduous and mixed forests, young forests, natural meadows), Aukštaitija highland (arable land, mixed forests) and South-Eastern Lithuanian lowland (mature deciduous forests, natural meadows).
