Type species Cetonia (Agestrata) luconica Eschscholtz, 1829, by subsequent designation of Arrow (1910).

Status revised to Agestrata by Laporte (1840).

Note: Laporte (1840) incorrectly spelt Agestrata as “ Agestata ”, and Schüroff (1934) incorrectly spelt Agestrata as “ Agettrata ”.

Tetragonus Gory & Percheron, 1833 (not Tetragonus Geyer in Hübner, 1832). Type species Agestrata dehaani Gory & Percheron, 1833, by subsequent designation of Smetana & Smith (2006). Synonymy by Laporte (1840).
