[4 species and 2 additional subspecies].

The valid type species fixation is that of Duponchel (1841), who selected Scarabaeus tetradactylus Linnaeus, 1771, but that species is currently placed in the genus Macraspis MacLeay, 1819 . An application to the Commission is necessary to fix Scarabaeus virens Drury, 1773 as the type species of Anticheira Eschscholtz, 1818 .
