Subfamily Bathymodiolinae Kenk & Wilson, 1985
Remarks. Four new seep fossil mussel species have been formally described since this group was reviewed by Saether et al. (2010). Three have been assigned to the genus Bathymodiolus Kenk & Wilson, 1985 . They are Bathymodiolus (s. l.) inouei Amano & Jenkins, 2011, from the early Oligocene Nuibetsu Formation, northern Japan, B. (s. l.) satsopensis Kiel & Amano, 2013, from the late Oligocene Lincoln Creek Formation, north-western USA, and B. (s. l.) aff. satsopensis Kiel & Amano, 2013 from the early Oligocene Makah Formation, north-western USA . The fourth new seep fossil mussel species, Vulcanidas ? goederti, was described by Kiel & Amano (2013) from the middle Eocene Humptulips Formation, north-western USA.
