Eoanthidium (Hemidiellum) semicarinatum Pasteels, 1972: 112 .

Description. Female. Body length 6.58± 0.87 mm; black. Head: Black; yellowish white patch on base of mandible, clypeus, supraclypeal area, narrow stripe along inner orbit almost to top of eye, stripe below anterior ocellus, posterior vertex; punctation fine and dense on face with sparse glittering pale pubescence; clypeus nearly convex, without median longitudinal line, apical margin concave medially with pubescence; juxtantennal carina present; mandible 4 dentate; anterior tentorial pit on epistomal sulcus below intersection with subantennal sulcus; F1 longer than pedicel; first labial segment shorter than second; inter-ocular distance slightly less than inter-antennal distance.

Mesosoma: Yellow stripe on anterior part of tegula, anterior margin of pronotum, pronotal lobe, mesoscutum with inverted U-shaped marking on either side, broad stripe on mesopleuron, latero-apical margin of mesoscutellum, outer surface of femora and tibiae; punctation fine and dense with sparse glittering pale pubescence; posterior margin of mesoscutellum rounded, incised medially, overhanging metanotum; omaular carina present on upper half of mesepisternum; wings hyaline; tarsal claws cleft; arolia present.

Metasoma: Yellow transverse patch on T1–T6 narrowly interrupted on all segments except T1 and T6; punctation fine and dense with sparse glittering pale pubescence; T6 apical margin with small tubercles; scopa golden yellow and white at the border on either side; white fasciae of short plumose hairs beneath scopa absent.

Male. Body length 7.07± 0.65 mm; black; similar to female except as follows: mandible tridentate; T7 yellowish white; T4–T6 with lateral spines; T7 with apical margin with median truncated projection and rounded lateral lobe; sternal segments with long pubescence laterally. Genitalia with gonostylus narrow at base and dilated distally with brush of pubescence; penis valve broad at base, pointed distally; apodeme of penis valve extended beyond genital base.

Floral Associations: Tridax procumbens (Asteraceae) and Duranta erecta (Verbenaceae) .

Flight period: April and May.

Distribution. Endemic to southern India.
