Type material. Adult male holotype from Har Meron, Israel, leg.Yael Lubin, May 5, 2006, pitfall trap (HUJ 15503); females were discovered, courtesy of Dr. Maria Chatzaki, among pairs examined from Rodos island, Afandou-Psinthos, Greece, May–July 2006 (NHMC; Fc:8461).
Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition referring to the type locality.
Description. Colouration black. Edges of dorsal scutum in male barely visible. Small eyes, ALE largest. Chelicerae with 3–4 pro- and 1–2 retromarginal teeth.
Male. Measurements (holotype): total length 6.2; carapace length 3.0, width 2.3, index 1.3; labial index 1.28; clypeal index 2.8; MOQ index 11.1; legs length: I 7.4, II 6.4, III 5.5, IV 8.8; patella-tibia index 0.9.
Palpus. Large with two thick, slightly bent, black sclerotized processes protruding apically (Figs 73, 74). Massive, brown tibial apophysis ends with little hooked tip.
Female. Note. Adult females have not yet been collected in Israel. Drawings of the epigynal plate and spermathecae of a female from Rodos are provided (Figs 75, 76).
Diagnosis. Zelotes harmeron can be easily separated from all other Zelotes species by the male palpus with the conspicuous horn-like protrusions and the shape of the female epigynal plate.
