Type Locality: Papua New Guinea, Saruwaged Mtns, 3600 m.

Vernacular Names: Mountain Pademelon.

Distribution: Subalpine grasslands of Huon Peninsula.

Conservation: Vulnerable.

Discussion: Close to T. browni, and considered a subspecies of it, with some misgivings, by Flannery (1992), who however noted some consistent differences, so considered a full species here.
