Alona kotovi Sinev, 2012 .
Rare in studied material, found in spring in a single lake (S6) and in autumn in a single pond (A32). A. kotovi inhabits water bodies of various types with a muddy bottom (Sinev 2012). The species is distributed in the Indo-Malaysian Region, in East Asia recorded in South Korea, Hainan Island and Yunnan Province (Sinev et al. 2020). The first record for Central China. Earlier records of Alona s. str. from East China (Ji et al. 2015) were attributed to Palearctic A. quadrangularis (O.F. Müller, 1776), but all the populations from Central China probably belong to A. kotovi . For detailed description see Sinev (2012).
