Daphnia (Ctenodaphnia) sinensis Gu, Xu, Li, Dumont & Han, 2013 .

A rare planktonic species found in rice fields (S27, S29, S31) and lakes (S19, S20) in spring; a few ephippial females occurred in a rice field (S27). The species is widely distributed in Palearctic, including China, Mongolia, Russian Far East, European Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan, also in Northeast Africa (Popova et al. 2016). D. sinensis was recorded previously as Daphnia (Ctenodaphnia) similoides sinensis Gu, Xu, Li, Dumont & Han, 2013 . For a detailed description see Popova et al. (2016).
