Paraguarí: *Sapucay, 1 female from unidentified bat (Guimarães & D´Andretta 1956).

Remarks:

Basilia ferruginea has been found on Lasiurus blossevillii (Lesson & Garnot) in South America (including the Galapagos Islands) (Guimarães & D´Andretta 1956; Whitaker & McCracken 2001) and on L. pfeifferi (Gundlach) in Cuba (Guimarães & D´Andretta 1956). Our survey of Paraguay yielded no specimens of this species, although 12 specimens of L. blossevillii were examined.
