Danielithosia Dubatolov & Kishida, 2012, Tinea 22 (1): 35. TS: Tigrioides aureolata Daniel, 1954 . TL: China (Zhejiang and Fujian).
Adult. Wingspan 18–22 mm. Adults are very similar to the genus Eilema: forewing narrow, gray˗fuliginous, pale gray, pale yellow, or pale brown, but the former can be distinguished by lacking the contrasting light costal margin typical of Eilema . Male genitalia: uncus more or less stout, with a small spine at apex. Valvae asymmetrical, with cucullus simple, pointed apically, and sacculus with a characteristic broadening subapically on right valva and more acute on left valva. Juxta elongated with a long sclerotized process, symmetrically bifurcated and flattened or tubular and asymmetrically greatly extended on one side. Aedeagus short, stout. Vesica with few large cone˗shaped cornuti, sometimes with an added distal spine˗like cornutus, and a series of smaller cornuti or spiniculi fields. Female genitalia: female genitalia with ovipositor short and stout; large ostium funnel heavily sclerotized and variable sclerotizations in the ductus bursae; ductus seminalis very large and usually spiraled; corpus bursae with paired, small scobinated signa patches.
