Holotype: UPNG 5572, 16km NE of Mendi, 2400m, 5 o 50'S 145 o 37'E, Southern Highlands Province, PNG (J.I. Menzies, E. Dennis, vii.1976).

Paratypes: UPNG 5573-76, 5591-92, data as for holotype; 5591-92, data as for holotype, but date 9.vii.1976; 6991, Angalimp camp, 5 o 55'S 144 o 29'E, Upper Tuman River, N slope of Kubor Range, 1840m, grid reference BP226460, Western Highlands Province, PNG (J. Menzies, iv.1974) .

Remarks: Entire type series of eight specimens in UPNG. Menzies gave the type locality altitude as 2500m, and in providing more information on the type locality, Menzies (1999: 358) alternatively described the distance from Mendi as 24km, but with the same coordinates. He also gave the locality for 6991 as Anglimp. Paratype 5575 is desiccated; remaining members of type series are in good condition.
