Diagnosis. Coleopteroid form: body length 4.9–6.2 mm; scutellum almost entirely opaque, apex hyaline; forewing stripes sexually dimorphic; hind trochanter with apical margin continuous; male ocular commissure equal to or longer than half of eye width; male forewing with median hyaline stripe at least half as wide as opaque area below stripe; male middle trochanter with cluster of ensiform setae on ventral surface, cluster at same line of base of articulation with femur; male middle femur without cluster of ensiform setae; female ocular commissure straight; female forewing: lateral margin of embolium not serrated, median stripe a third to half as wide as forewing, superior margin of median stripe continuous centrally, inferior margin of median stripe with convexity; female hind femur with anterior margin strongly emarginated and posterior margin not bulging. Macropterous form: body length 5.9– 6.4 mm; forewing brown; male middle trochanter with cluster of ensiform setae on ventral surface, cluster at same line of base of articulation with femur; male middle femur with setae restricted to median axis; female hind femur with anterior margin emarginated and posterior margin not bulging (Barbosa 2014).
