Genus Uroptychus Henderson, 1888

Remarks. A total of 257 species are known worldwide (Baba 2018), five of which are from the eastern Pacific including the Straits of Magellan: Uroptychus bellus Faxon, 1893; U. granulatus Benedict, 1902; U. occidentalis Faxon, 1893; U. pubescens Faxon, 1893; U. parvulus (Henderson, 1885) (Hendrickx & Harvey 1999; Baba 2005; Baba & Lin 2008; Hendrickx & Parente 2011; Hendrickx 2012). This paper describes the sixth species, U. compressus n. sp.
