Holotype ♂: “ Myrmecophilus / nigricornis / paratype [red font] Chp. // A. Moscona 7.3.1948 // Israel / Abu gosh / near Jerusalem // Paratype [red label].

Type Series: Holotype ♂, Paratypes 1♂, 2♀.

Current status: Valid species.

Remarks: The holotype was mistakenly labeled as a paratype and deposited at the MNHN (Paris) together with a female paratype. The holotype has now been returned to the SMNHTAU and is labeled accordingly, while the female paratype remains in the collection of the MNHN. The other two paratypes are missing.
