13. Torodora andringitrensis Park & Minet, sp. nov.

Type specimen. Holotype: Male, Central Madagascar, Vakoana forest, Ambalamarovandana, alt. 1,530 m, Andringitra-Ambalavao, 21 i [19]58, leg. P. Griveaud; gen. slide no. CIS-7374 (in MNHN).

Diagnosis. This new species can be distinguished from its congeners by the well-developed, narrow, antemedian and postmedian bands of the forewing.

Description. Male (Figs. 15A–C). Wingspan, 15.0 mm. Head: yellowish brown dorsally, with yellowish-white erect scales laterally. Antenna as long as forewing; scape yellowish brown dorsally, yellowish white on lateral surfaces; flagellum yellowish white, without annulations. 2 nd segment of labial palpus (Fig. 15B) thickened, with rough scales dorsally, slightly arched, yellowish brown on outer surface, yellowish white on inner surface and apically; 3 rd segment strongly upturned, as long as 2 nd segment, yellowish white, with sharply pointed apex. Thorax: thorax and tegula yellowish brown. Hind tibia with dark-brown scales dorsally; its apex white. Forewing slightly broadened distally; costa arched around 1/3, then nearly straight; ground color yellowish brown; antemedian band yellowish white, oblique; postmedian band angled outwardly at middle; apex not sharp; termen slightly concave above middle; fringe concolorous with ground color, with broad, dark-brown band proximally; venation with R 5 to termen; base of M 2 remote from M 3; M 3 free; CuA 1 and CuA 2.shortly stalked. Hind wing ground color similar to that of the forewing; venation complete; M 3 and CuA 1 stalked for basal 1/3. Abdomen: dark brown dorsally, with yellowish white pregenital segment; spinose zones on terga somewhat triangular (Fig. 15F).

Male genitalia (Figs. 15D, E): Uncus elongated, tapering distally from middle, reaching caudal margin of basal plate of gnathos. Basal plate of gnathos somewhat elongated, quadrate; median process narrowed from beyond 2/3, forming a hook. Tegumen deeply concave on anterior margin. Valva broad basally; costa gently concave; cucullus densely setose, narrow, elongated, with nearly straight, sclerotized ventral margin. Juxta trapezoidal, narrowed distally, with small, fork-like latero-caudal processes. Vinculum a narrow band. Aedeagus very stout, longer than valva; dorsal margin strongly arched, slightly produced apically; cornuti consisting of a weakly sclerotized plate (measuring about 1/3 the length of aedeagus) and a sack of spinules.

Female unknown.

Distribution. Madagascar (central region).

Etymology. The species name refers to the Andringitra massif, where was found the holotype.
