Remarks. This species is widely distributed, and has been recorded from Europe (Menzel and Mohrig 1997; Vilkamaa 2003; Menzel et al. 2006), North America (Vilkamaa 2003; Mohrig et al. 2013), and Taiwan (Rudzinski 2005). The present study reports the first record of this species from Japan. The gonostylus of this species has two characteristic mesal spines, which are moderately directed downward. These two spines tend to be more widely separated each other in the Japanese specimens (Fig. 2 B) compared to those of the specimens from the other regions.
