FAMILY NOTONECTIDAE LATREILLE

Three genera with 24 species are known to occur in Argentina. Two subfamilies are currently recognized in the Notonectidae, following the classification proposed by Štys and Jansson (1988): Anisopinae and Notonectinae (with three tribes). Both subfamilies and two tribes ( Notonectini and Nychiini) are represented in the Argentinean fauna.
