FAMILY MEGARIDIDAE McATEE AND MALLOCH

Recognized as a subfamily of Pentatomidae by McAtee and Malloch (1928a), this group was raised to family status by McDonald (1979). This family is exclusively Neotropical, and it is monogeneric including 16 species in the genus Megaris Stål. Two species have been recorded from Argentina so far.
