Encolapta scriniata (Meyrick, 1913)

Material examined. CHINA: Hainan Province: 1 Ƌ, Jiaxi Nature Reserves, 220 m, 16.vii.2009, leg. Zhaohui Du and Linlin Yang, genitalia slide no. YMQ13226.

Diagnosis. Adult (Fig. 26) with wingspan 15.0 mm. The male genitalia of E. scriniata resemble those of E. trapezoidea sp. nov. in the valva with distal half trapezoidal (Fig. 40), and detailed differences between them are stated under the latter species.

Distribution. China (Hainan, Taiwan), Sri Lanka, Vietnam.

Remarks. The 2nd palpomere of E. scriniata has a tight triangular scale tuft ventro-distally, which is similar to members of the epichthonia -group. However, we here place it in the tegulifera -group based on the distinct forewing patterns, the absence of R5 of the forewing and the tegumen with medially convex anterior margin.
