Notes: Bhattacharyya (1971a) proposed the name Hypoaspis calcuttaensis as replacement for Cosmolaelaps indicus Bhattacharyya, 1966, on the grounds that it was a homonym of Laelaps (Hypoaspis) indicus Vitzthum, 1921 . However, Laelaps indicus Vitzthum and Cosmolaelaps indicus Bhattacharyya are no longer considered as congeneric, so the junior homonym should not be rejected (ICZN Article 59.2).
