Physonota alutacea Boheman.

Trinidad: Caparo, VI.1914, coll. S.M. Klages (1, CMNH). This locality was mistakenly given as a site in Venezuela (Borowiec 1996). The species was reported in Simmonds (1949) as an experimental control of Cordia macrostachya (Jacq.) ( Boraginaceae) in Trinidad. Later, the beetle was introduced into Mauritius as a biological control for that plant which had become a weedy invader (Williams 1950).
