Helochares (Sindolus) femoratus (Brullé, 1841)

Material examined: 1 ♂ Brazil, Piauí State, Campo Maior Municipality,Açude Grande, 4°50’12.7”S, 42°10’36.8”W, 09.XI.2018, Moreno, L.A.S. leg. (CEHJ).

Diagnosis. Medium-sized species (3.9 mm). Dorsal punctation on head, pronotum and elytra moderately coarse and sparse. Mesoventral process strongly elevated, laminar, projected between mesocoxae (Fig. 12). Last abdominal ventrite deeply notched, U-shaped (Fig. 12). Parameres longer than median lobe; apices rounded; dorsal lobule narrow, swollen basally, with two long and narrow arms nearly evenly separated from base to apices, apices narrowly rounded; ventral lobule shorter and wider than dorsal lobule, acuminate at apex (Fig. 16).

Distribution. Argentina and Brazil (states of Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul). New record for the state of Piauí: Campo Maior municipality.
