Brachymeria podagrica (Fabricius, 1787)

Material examined. Karnataka: 1♀ Coorg dt., Madapura river site, 04.iv.2019, Coll. C. Binoy , 3♀ Chiklihole dam site, 22.xii.2019, Coll. C. Binoy.

Diagnosis. Body black with legs reddish-brown with variable regions of yellow as described below; head in dorsal view as wide as mesosoma (Fig. 45); scrobe clearly reaching median ocellus (Fig. 46), ventrally with a small smooth area (Fig. 46, yellow arrow); preorbital carina present (Fig. 46, white arrow); postorbital carina present, conspicuous and reaching genotemporal margin (Fig. 47, arrow); apical margin of scutellum crenulate and distinctly bilobed; metacoxa distinctly pitted ventrally, dorsally smooth, without ventromesal tooth; metafemur with distinct inner ventrobasal tooth (Fig. 45, arrow), reddish-brown with apical yellow region, surface smooth and shiny with sparse punctures and sparse pubescence, ventrally with 12 or 13 irregular small teeth (Fig. 48); metatibia brownish-black with subbasal and apical yellow region (Fig. 48); metasoma longer (1.2×) than mesosoma, acuminate; Gt 1 shiny, smooth (Figs 44, 45); Gt 2 faintly punctate; Gt 6 shallowly pitted, with microsculptured interstices; ovipositor sheath distinctly visible dorsally.
