Genus Mongolianella Mandelstam, in Galeeva, 1955

Type species: Mongolianella palmosa Mandelstam, 1956

Observations. This genus is widely distributed in the basins of India (Khosla & Sahni 2000; Whatley & Bajpai, 2000a, b and c; Bajpai & Whatley 2001; Whatley et al. 2003a, b and c; Khosla & Nagori 2005; Khosla et al. 2009a and Khosla et al. 2011). Khosla et al. (2009a) transferred this genus to Stenocypris Sars, (1889) . In the present study, the species found was treated as belonging to the genus Mongolianella, but we emphasize the need for a comparative study with the forms described by Khosla et al. (2011).
