Phallus description (Figs. 28–29). Right arm without dorsal projection. Epiphallus small, with a posterior lobe. Core plate bare and flattened, with one dorsally curved process.
Comments. The highly modified hypopygium and phallus makes M. stylodactyla an easily recognizable species but difficult in the proposal of homologies with the structures of other Mannheimsia species.
The name Chouomyia dactyloformis created by Liu (2001) is a lapsus for Chouomyia stylodactyla, not a new species proposal, and should not be considered a synonym as proposed by Brown (2005).
