Lectotype (Webster in J. Arnold Arbor. 37: 2. 1956): Herb. Clifford: 439, Phyllanthus 1 (BM-000647366) .

Current name: Phyllanthus epiphyllanthus L. ( Euphorbiaceae).

Note: Merrill (Interpret. Rumph. Herb. Amb.: 208. 1917) indicated a Rumphius element as the type but, although it appears in a 1759 account of the species, it is not cited in the protologue and is therefore not original material for the name.
