Lectotype (Jonsell & Jarvis in Nordic J. Bot. 14: 149. 1994): Herb. Clifford: 475, Polypodium 5 (BM-000647595) .

Current name: Polystichum lonchitis (L.) Roth ( Dryopteridaceae).

Note: Although Bobrov (in Novosti Sist. Vyssh. Rast. 21: 11. 1984) indicated 1251.14 (LINN) as the type, this collection lacks the relevant Species Plantarum number (i.e. “26”) and was a post-1753 addition to the herbarium, and is not original material for the name.
