Generitype of Pistia Linnaeus.

Current name: Pistia stratiotes L. ( Araceae).

Note: Bogner (in Leroy, Fl. Madagascar 31: 67. 1975) indicated 1072.1 (LINN) as type, but this choice was rejected by Suresh & al. (in Taxon 32: 127-128. 1983) on the grounds of conflict with the protologue. The material also appears to be a post-1753 addition to the herbarium, and not original material for the name.
