Note: The identity of this name is uncertain. Carretero (in Anales Jard. Bot. Madrid 38: 98. 1981) interpreted it as a synonym of P. crus-gallii L. (syn. Echinochloa crus-gallii (L.) P. Beauv.) on the basis of 80.17 (LINN), though without explicitly treating the latter as the type. However, this specimen is unannotated by Linnaeus and is not original material for the name. This name may well be a candidate for rejection.
