Current name: Lathyrus japonicus Willd. subsp. maritimus (L.) P.W. Ball ( Fabaceae: Faboideae).

Note: Fernald (in Rhodora 34: 187. 1932) noted that two infraspecific taxa were involved within Linnaeus’ concept of the species, but chose no type, and neither did Ball (in Feddes Repert. 79: 46. 1968).
