Psoralea tenuifolia Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 763. 1753.

"Habitat in Aethiopia." RCN: 5624.

Neotype (Stirton in Turland & Jarvis in Taxon 46: 480. 1997): Specimen labelled "1382. 4. Psoralea verucosa [sic!]. P. angustifolia ", [dated] 1808 (PRUH; iso- BM-photo).

Current name: Psoralea tenuifolia L. ( Fabaceae: Faboideae).

Note: At the time of its typification, Psoralea tenuifolia (for which no original material exists) was not in current use, but Stirton believed it to apply to an unrecognised, glabrous species confused with P. verrucosa Willd., a densely wart-encrusted plant with pedunculate, congested inflorescences. He therefore neotypified the Linnaean name in the sense of the glabrous species.
