(Figure 27)
Pimpla destructor Smith, 1874; primary homonym of Pimpla destructor, 1863; junior synonym of Apechthis capulifera (Kriechbaumer, 1887) .
Pimpla japonica Dalla Torre, 1901 in Dalla Torre (1902); replacement name for Pimpla destructor Smith, 1874 .
Apechthis japonica Morley, 1914b; replacement name for Pimpla destructor Smith, 1874; secondary homonym of Apechthis japonica (Dalla Torre, 1901) .
Taxonomic history. The specific name ‘ destructor ’ is preoccupied by Pimpla destructor Smith, 1863, therefore, Dalla Torre (1902) proposed the replacement name Pimpla japonica Dalla Torre, 1901; moreover, Morley (1914b) also proposed the same replacement name for Pimpla destructor Smith, 1874 and transferred the species to Apechthis; Förster, 1869, but the replacement name (i.e. ‘ japonica’) is a secondary homonym of Apechthis japonica (Dalla Torre, 1901) .
Current taxonomy. Junior synonym of Apechthis capulifera (Kriechbaumer, 1887) ( Ichneumonidae: Pimplinae: Pimplini).
