Taxonomic history. Morley (1913b) transferred this species to Perilissus Förster, 1855 and Townes et al. (1965) then treated Mesoleptus stygius as a subspecies of P. rufoniger (Gravenhorst, 1820) . Finally, Aubert (2000) synonymised it under P. rufoniger .
Current taxonomy. Junior synonym of Perilissus rufoniger (Gravenhorst, 1820) ( Ichneumonidae: Ctenopelmatinae: Perilissini).

Condition. Rather good; apical few flagellomeres of right antenna lost; left hind wing glued to card.
