Remarks

Further investigation is needed of the COI divergence (p-distance: 3.6%, for 503 nt) between the present DNA sequence and that from São Paulo city, SE Brazil (Gomes et al. 2010), to determine whether P. boraceiensis includes more than one species or whether it has a considerable population structure.

Geographic distribution

Brazil: Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná and Santa Catarina states (Gomes et al. 2010), including the city of Rio de Janeiro (Rangel et al. 2021).
