Ceratophrys sp. (FMNH P 14402) from Catamarca, Argentina (Marshall & Patterson 1981)
An incomplete skull of Ceratophrys was collected in Puerta de Corral Quemado Locality (Fig. 1, locality 11), province of Catamarca, Argentina, by scientists from the Field Museum of Natural History 1926 (Marshall & Patterson 1981). This fossil was neither described nor illustrated; it only was recorded (as Ceratophrys sp.) in the list of material collected and referred to the FMNH Collection (FMNH 14402; Marshall & Patterson 1981). Unfortunately, the specimen now is lost (W.F. Simpson [Collections Manager of Fossil Vertebrates, Department of Geology, FMNH], pers. Comm.).
