Distribution: Great Nicobar Isl (Nicobar Isls, India).

Conservation: IUCN – Data Deficient.

Discussion: Not a species of Suncus, as suggested by Krumbiegel (1978:71). Corbet and Hill (1991) included jenkinsi which is retained as distinct until more evidence is presented.
