Gyrophaena (Phaenogyra) strictula Erichson, 1839
(Figs 33a–b)
Material examined. 1 ♂ (specimen without head and pronotum; Fig. 33a; label as in Fig. 33b): ‘ G. glacialis Cau. Gotsch. Kolen’, ‘ Gyrophaena strictula Erichson, 1839 det. S. Glotov 2020’.
Remarks. Kolenati (1846) originally described “ Goryphaena ” glacialis Kolenati, 1846 (now synonym of Oligota inflata (Mannerheim, 1830), e.g. Schülke & Smetana (2015)) based on unspecified number of syntypes from “…montis Kasbek Caucasi centralis...”. Hochhuth (1849: 73) misidentified and redescribed it: the studied specimen belongs to G. (Phaenogyra) strictula . The name G. glacialis Hochhuth, 1849 [sic!] was treated as the synonym of G. strictula (e.g. Schülke & Smetana 2015, Enushchenko & Semenov 2016), but this is an unavailable name.
