Type material. Holotype (USNM 24212).
Type locality. Japan, Bonin Islands .
Material examined. South China Sea, Hainan Island, stn. 15, 18°12’09’’N, 109°29′40’’E, intertidal, on old corals, 1 spm, BL 5.0 mm, 19.11.2016, leg. J. Zhang; stn. 27, 18°18′03’’N, 109°13′55’’E, depth 2-5 m, on stones covered with red crustose algae, 1 spm, BL 5.5 mm, 24.11.2016, leg. B. Sirenko.
Distribution. South China Sea, Vietnam from Con Dao Archipelago to Beibu Gulf (Gulf of Tongkin), China, Hainan Island and Japan, Bonin Islands.
Remarks. The specimens from Hainan Island have the tegmentum and girdle of yellow or dark red color with wide white and narrow black girdle bands at both sides next to the sutures of valves I/II and VII/VIII and sometimes II/III and VI/VII as well.
