Type material. The holotype (ZISP 2 243).

Type locality. Vietnam, Gulf of Tongkin, Cat Ba Islands, 20°47.090′N, 107°06.103′E, 1–1.5 m, SCUBA, on old shells .

Material examined. South China Sea, Hainan Island, stn. 13, 18°12’09’’N, 109°29′40’’E, depth 2–3 m, on old corals, 1 spm, BL 9.0 mm, 19.11.2016, leg. B. Sirenko.

Distribution. South China Sea, Beibu Gulf (Gulf of Tongkin) and Hainan Island.

Remarks. This is the first record of L. tenuicostata from Hainan Island.
