DISTRIBUTION: Kenya, Malawi, C Mozambique, Tanzania (incl. Zanzibar), S and E Zambia, NE Zimbabwe.

STATUS: IUCN - Endangered as B. c. omnivora .

SYNONYMS: omnivora Heller, 1913; puisa Peters, 1852; tenuis Thomas and Wroughton, 1908.
