TYPE LOCALITY: Unknown; restricted to "vicinity of Canton, China " by Allen (1938) .

DISTRIBUTION: Ussuri region (Russia), Korea, China, Japan, and N Indochina.

SYNONYMS: albus Hornaday, 1904; amurensis Matschie, 1908; koreensis Mori, 1922; orestes Thomas, 1923; sinensis Brass, 1904; stegmanni Matschie, 1908; ussuriensis Matschie, 1908; viverrinus Temminck, 1839 .
