DISTRIBUTION: Houtmans Abrolhos (Western Australia) to Kangaroo Isl (South Australia).

SYNONYMS: albicollis Péron, 1816; australis Quoy and Gaimard, 1830; forsteri Wood Jones, 1992 (not Lesson, 1828); hookeri Gray, 1844; lobatus Gray, 1828; williamsi McCoy, 1877.
