TYPE LOCALITY: " Chili " restricted by Thomas (1912) to "S. Chili (Temuco)"; Cabrera (1958) restricted the locality to "alrededores de Santiago" [Chile]. Honacki et al. (1982) listed the type locality for G. c. furax Thomas, 1912 .

DISTRIBUTION: Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay.
